The Kalanilayam Theatre is the cynosure of connoisseurs in Kerala.
The teachers and the students of the Kathakali school formed the theatre
troop and if necessary guest artisters are also included. The troop
repertoire is composed of 40 popular Attakathas. New Attakathas are
directed and staged by us. Our last venture was Hamlet by veteran
Malayalam literary figure, cine artist, Kathakali Chenda percussionist
Kathakali Kesavan.
We perform almost all Attakathas. Besides we present Sreerama Pattabhishekam,
Ayyappacharitham, Harichandra charitham, Maha Bharata which are neglected
by other major troops of Kerala. Kalanilayam conducts 3 kinds of performance
for the varied interests of the art lovers. |
