| Kalanilayam provides excellent training for making professional
kathakali artists, musicians and costume designers. There prospect
is majorly classified into five different training as per its aspect.
At present Kalanilayam is imparting training for : |

Kathakali Sangheetham (6 yrs.) |

Chenda (4 yrs.) |

Madhalam (4 yrs.) |

5. |
Chutti & Koppupani (3 yrs.) |
The above mentioned curriculam is for the regular stream. After
the completion of the course a diploma certificate is issued. Some
diploma holders join again to further their scholarship.
Apart from the regular stream, part-time students can also join the
institute.
As an annex a dance academy for imparting training in classical items
such as Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam and Kuchupudy are scheduled to
start from this year 2002. The duration of Diploma courses of the above
art forms are 4 years. |
